Have you ever prayed for more patience, kindness, or self-control… only to be tested the very next day? You’re not alone.
As followers of Christ, we’re called to live differently — to let our lives reflect the character of Jesus through the fruits of the Spirit: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
That’s a big list. And some days, it feels impossible to live up to. But here’s the truth: You don’t have to produce these fruits on your own. They’re not about trying harder — they’re about walking closer to the Holy Spirit.
It starts with a simple prayer:
“Lord, help me show love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in all I do. Amen.”
That small, surrendered moment invites the Spirit to work in you and through you. You might still get impatient. You might still mess up. But over time, you’ll start to see fruit growing in places where there used to be frustration.
So today, take a deep breath. Whisper that prayer. And trust that God is shaping you — one fruit at a time.
