When You Feel Weary: Finding Strength in Galatians 6:9

a blog on the weary

"Let’s not become discouraged in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not become weary." — Galatians 6:9 (NASB)

Have you ever felt like you're doing everything you know God has called you to do, yet nothing seems to be changing?

You're praying, serving, giving, encouraging others, working faithfully, and trusting God—but you're tired. The results you hoped for haven't come, and you're beginning to wonder if your efforts even matter.

If that's where you are today, Galatians 6:9 is a gentle reminder that God sees every act of faithfulness, even when no one else does.

God Sees What Others Don't

It's easy to become discouraged when we don't see immediate results.

Maybe you've been:

  • Praying for a loved one who hasn't come to Christ.

  • Building a business that feels slow to grow.

  • Serving faithfully at church without recognition.

  • Loving difficult people.

  • Waiting on God to answer a prayer.

Our culture celebrates quick success, but God's work often happens quietly and over time.

While you may not see progress, God is working beneath the surface.

Don't Mistake Waiting for God's Absence

Waiting can make us question whether God has forgotten us.

But throughout Scripture, we see that God's timing is rarely immediate.

Noah built the ark for years before the rain came.

Joseph waited years before seeing God's promise fulfilled.

David was anointed king long before he ever wore the crown.

In every story, God was working during the waiting.

He is doing the same in your life.

Faithfulness Is Never Wasted

Sometimes we measure success by visible results.

God measures faithfulness.

Every prayer you pray…

Every kind word you speak…

Every act of obedience…

Every moment you choose to trust Him…

None of it is wasted.

Even when you cannot see the harvest, God is preparing it.

Keep Showing Up

Galatians 6:9 doesn't promise that life will always be easy.

It acknowledges that we will grow weary.

God knows there will be days when we're exhausted, discouraged, and tempted to quit.

But He encourages us to keep going.

Not because of our own strength but because He is faithful.

When you don't have the strength to take ten steps, ask Him for the strength to take one.

Faithfulness is often found in simply showing up again today.

Your Harvest Is in God's Hands

The verse says, "In due time we will reap."

Notice it doesn't say our timing.

It says due time—God's perfect timing.

The harvest may not come when you expect it.

It may look different than you imagined.

But if God has called you to keep doing good, you can trust Him with the outcome.

A Prayer When You Feel Weary

Heavenly Father,

When I feel discouraged and tired, remind me that You are always at work—even when I cannot see it. Help me remain faithful in doing the good You have called me to do. Strengthen my heart when I want to give up, and teach me to trust Your perfect timing instead of my own.

Thank You that no act of obedience is ever wasted and that You promise a harvest in Your perfect time. Fill me with renewed hope, peace, and perseverance as I continue to walk faithfully with You.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

Final Thoughts

If you're feeling weary today, don't give up.

God sees every prayer, every sacrifice, every quiet act of obedience, and every step of faith.

The season you're in today is not the end of your story.

Keep trusting.

Keep praying.

Keep doing good.

Your harvest is coming—in God's perfect time.
